Instagram applies a little compression to your images when you upload them. Here are a few settings you can use when editing your image in Photoshop to help “override” this compression.

Set your Colorspace (color profile) srgb 8bit.
To do this, go to Edit > convert to profile
Crop aspect ratio to 4:5 for optimal coverage while scrolling. (No taller than 4:5 and no narrower than 1.9:1
Export as jpg (only for instagram) decrease quality to around 75% (zoom before saving to make sure quality still looks good.

With these three simple settings, you can make your Instagram feed stand out from the rest!

Do you need a visual approach? We got you covered. Watch this short video on how to set up your Photoshop environment with these settings.
